GO (581A), the operator of the taxi application "GO," is scheduled to list on June 16th. The Offer Price has been set at ¥2,400, exceeding the expected price of ¥2,350. Significant attention is focused on the First-day Opening Price of this platform company, which has expanded its reach across ride-hailing, payments, and advertising 🚕. While there are several formidable competitors in the ride-hailing space, GO has achieved its listing ahead of the pack, positioning itself to capitalize on first-mover advantages. There are, however, some notable points of consideration. Secondary shares account for 47% of the total shares issued — a considerably high proportion — while the public offering (new share issuance) stands at zero. This structure prioritizes the exit of existing shareholders and may help alleviate market concerns over post-listing share sales by major shareholders; however, any fresh Capital Raising to fund growth initiatives will be left to future capital policy decisions. Going forward, the direction GO takes — in every sense of the word — will be one to watch closely.
